6. Panzerdivision

The 6. Panzerdivision formed in October 1939 from the 1. Leichte Division which in turn had fought in Poland. It was assigned to 16th Army during the initial attack on France and then assigned to the Panzer Group Guderian for the final attack. It remained in France until Juli 1940 in the area of Epinal. Afterwards it was transferred to East Prussia.

Commanding General: Gen. d. Panzertruppen Werner Kempf

The division was equipped with some Panzer I, II and Panzer 35(t).
